![]() The thing is, these adresses are not constant, they shift around with every time the game is booted up, as the system only assigns them the adresses that are currently unoccupied. The thing is, Cheat Engine works with the OS's value adresses and their values, meaning you need to find the right adress first (by trial and error) and then you can change the value of this addres. ![]() a bit more potent then you think considering games are programmed with values, but I do agree. Overall, I don't think there's much to worry about it, plus you can always kick the cheater when you are the host. However cheat engine itself is pretty much a pretty crude cheating device, since all you do is manipulate certain values by hand which means you can't really make any substantial effects other than to progress faster, while code injections are worse due to their potential, like forcing to spawn things, aimbots, etc. Originally posted by TwentyOne:The game itself is a PvE Co-op shooter that runs on a p2p connection model, so cheaters are bound to happen from time to time. Using it to grief others however I disapprove strongly. I've used it before on other games, not DRG so I can understand the appeal to an extent, its like soft modding to tailor a game experience more to your liking or surpass the code's limitations placed on you so I can understand it for those reasons. If I ever meet someone who fires indefinitely with his minigun with no spinup time I'll just leave and play somewhere else. As long as I don't end up with thousands of minerals at the end of a round I don't care. Personally I haven't noticed anyone using it online in 80 hours. It's pretty idiotic to use this in a coop shooter and I would give most people who use it the benefit of the doubt that they only use it in singleplayer to mess around. But thankfully you can't give yourself minerals or money (yet). You can also give yourself secondary objective stuff like Apoca Bloom. ![]() Originally posted by phittte:I just looked at the cheat engine forum and apparently you can give yourself unlimited ammo, no spinup time, no driller overheating and similar things. ![]()
